Please tell me you’ve seen Strictly Ballroom? If not, you must!

It was made in 1992 and follows the life of a ballroom dancing maverick (Paul Mecurio) who thrives on making up his own steps to the horror of the Ballroom Confederation. He ends up finding an ‘ugly duckling’ of a dance partner and the two of them try and shake up the ballroom dancing community by bucking the trend and trying some daring new moves at the Australian Pan Pacific Championships.

It’s Baz Luhrrmann at his best with his hyper-real dream like sequences, bright colours, sequins and that incredibly memorable scene of Scott and Fran dancing on the Kings Cross rooftop in Sydney in front of the iconic Coca-Cola sign.
