Styling My London Home Office with Vintage Charm - by Lucy Gough, Professional Interior Stylist, London and Sydney
I'm so excited to share some fresh pictures of my London home office that I recently styled, beautifully captured by Jonathan Gooch.
The real showstopper in this space is the Ladderax system, a modular shelving and storage design created by Robert Heal back in 1964 for Staples of Cricklewood, right here in London. I absolutely adore it! The beauty of Ladderax is that you can mix and match the sections to your heart's content, making it perfect for a professional interior stylist like me who loves flexibility and unique pieces. It brings such a wonderful touch of vintage London style to the room.
If you're curious about where you can find similar pieces to create this look in your own home styling projects, whether you're in London, Sydney, or anywhere else, here's a little breakdown:
Wallpaper: Anaglypta. A classic choice for adding texture and character.
Ladderax shelving system: I sourced mine from Material Cultures, a great place to find unique vintage pieces.
Plants: You can find fantastic and affordable options at Ikea – greenery always brings life to a workspace.
Industrial desk lamp: This one was a special, handmade gift from my brother-in-law! You can find similar industrial style lamps at Skinflint design.
Hay tray table in white: A versatile and stylish piece from Nest.
Wishbone chair by Hans Wegner: A design classic, available at Aram Store.
Kafe desk lamp in light grey (on writing desk): A lovely option from Dove Mill.
Creating a functional yet stylish home office is so important, especially for those of us in the design world. I hope this little peek into my London workspace inspires your own interior styling adventures!
