Hi All!
It’s Maison & Objet in Paris this week, and for those of you who don’t know what M&O is- it is the first global interiors trade show of the industry calendar. Businesses attend to purchase new stock for the next season, interior designers and professionals go to be the first to know about the interiors trends of the near future and journalists and stylists attend to report back to the rest of the world as to what you will see coming through onto shop shelves in the seasons ahead.
Tom Dixon (one of the most influential British design brands) has appointed me as their ‘Reporter on the ground’ at M&O and I will be attending the mammoth event with my trusty camera and thus be flooding your instagram/twitter and facebook feeds with the latest and most beautiful new designs as and when I come across them!(If you are heading there, look out for the TD stand in Hall 7, Stand A43)
Tom Dixon themselves are launching their gorgeous new range of accessories that fall under the new trend going by the name of ‘Iridescence’.
The Oil collection (candles, reed diffusers and wax diffusers) uses the light refracting from the surface to create a lustrous effect of petrol on water or a dragonfly wing. (see first image below). They look absolutely beautiful sitting next to a natural light source like a window.
The Warp collection, that falls under the same Iridescence trend is a series of mouth blown vessels that become squashed and distorted while the glass is in a molten state. The beautiful, petrol finish is then applied by hand causing light to refract from the lustre glaze.
The large Warp Vase below can be used for flowers and foliage and also for your umbrellas due to the waterproof nature of the glaze.
Tom Dixon are also running a brilliant Instagram competition under the hashtag #TDIridescence.
TD’s collection officially launches this Friday and in celebration of all things iridescent, they’re offering you the chance to win a Tom Dixon accessory from the new range.
To enter simply scour world for iridescence and share your images on Instagram tagging @tomdixonstudio with the hashtag #TDIridescence
You can also check out the inspiration behind TD’s latest obsession on their Pintrest page!
See you there, guys! x
